Football Clubs Urged to Register for 2002-2003 Season

Just ahead of the start of the 2002-2003-football season, the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) is urging all clubs to register as early as possible as the completion of the season’s fixtures is now awaiting the registration of all clubs participating this season.

Due to the current status with registration of teams etc. the Association has set the official date two weeks later than originally planned. The new date is Saturday October 5, 2002.

Deadline for the first club registration and player transfer window is Monday, September 30th. No registrations or transfers will be accepted after this date, until the second window in January 2003.

Section F of CIFA’s competition rules stipulates that all clubs should register the following with the Association:
(a) Players
(b) Team officials
(c) Team colours
(d) The official contact person to whom all correspondence from CIFA may be addressed, including phone and fax numbers, mailing address and e-mail address;
(e) Details for fax and phone as in (d) above but for an alternate person in case the official contact is unavailable.
(f) The name of the team’s principal sponsor (if any)

A fee of $500.00 must accompany the club’s registration.

The Association also requires that clubs submit their memorandum and articles of association, certificate of incorporation, minutes of annual general meeting, financial statement, annual report and annual budget for the 2001-02 season.

Clubs should also note that registration of players must be completed within this period (up to 30th September). A completed registration form, signed by the club’s authorizing officer, accompanied by two full face passport size photographs and proof of residency – Immigration identification card, copy of passport photo page and page with work permit stamp – must be submitted for each new player registered.

Players registering for the Senior Men’s and the Senior Women’s competitions will also be issued with a player registration card, which must be paid for and collected by the player. Players competing in either the Senior Men’s or Senior Women’s competitions will not be considered registered unless the player (or the player’s team, on his/her behalf) possesses a valid player registration card issued by the Association for that season.

All registrations should be done on the Association’s prescribed forms, supplying whatever registration and identification details are requested.
