Signing on the dotted
line: Mr. Dax Foster, Sales and Marketing Director
of Foster Brothers Limited signs the five-year sponsorship
contract on behalf of the Foster Group, which has
partnered with local football. CIFA President Jeffrey
Webb looks on.
The Cayman Islands Football
Association’s (CIFA) senior men’s and
women’s leagues kick off this weekend, with
11 teams competing for the 2002/2003 season. Once
again, the Foster Group of Companies has thrown its
support behind football, with its sponsorship of the
men’s senior national league. In fact, Fosters
has extended its sponsorship for another five years,
with a total commitment of $75,000.00
Fosters has sponsored the
league at various levels for the past 10 years.
CIFA President, Jeffrey Webb
and Foster Brothers’ Sales and Marketing Director,
Dax Foster signed the contract for sponsorship at
a recent press conference. “It’s exciting
to see all the positive changes happening in football,
with coach Marcio Maximo, young players in the national
team, and the new disciplinary measures that are been
introduced,” Dax Foster noted. “ We are
happy to contribute to football, and to help young
people in the community through sports,” he
added.
Mr. Webb said that Fosters
has always been supportive of football, and sets a
good example of what good corporate citizenship is
about. “We are looking forward to an exciting
season. The teams have been training hard and are
well prepared,” Mr. Webb said.
He noted that starting this season, CIFA has introduced
new registration and transfer guidelines and doping
control measures to ensure that players lead a drug-free
life.
