Condolences


Anthony Fogarty (Center) in happier times, receiving the Leading Goal Scorer award at the 2001 CIFA Awards Ceremony.



The Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) has today (Tuesday October 1, 2002) received news of the death of Anthony Fogartty, player with Western Union Football Club. The 26 year old forward who was hospitalized here recently left Grand Cayman on Sunday September 29th for his home country Jamaica. He died in the Fairfield Hospital in Montego Bay on Monday September 30, 2002.

CIFA expresses deep sympathy and extends condolences to family and friends of Mr. Fogarty in their time of grief.

“We were shocked to hear of his sudden death, he was an excellent player and admirable individual. He will be a great loss to the football fraternity in Cayman,” said President Jeffrey Webb

He was awarded leading goal scorer for the 200-2001 season while playing with George Town Sports Club.

Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
