Cayman meets Grenada in Olympic Qualifiers

This Sunday October 12 th , 2003 the Cayman Islands National U23 team is scheduled to play Grenada in their second leg Olympic Qualifier.

The match, which is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. at the Truman Bodden Sports complex, will determine Cayman's fate for the next round of qualifiers.

Head Coach Marcos Tinoco feels confident that the team will do well stating that, "The team is showing more concentration and commitment in training." He pointed out that following a recent Sports Psychology Seminar with renowned Sports Psychologist Dr. Keith Bell from the USA the players now fully understand the responsibility and privilege of representing their country. He added that, "The team has put in a lot of extra hours working on tactical abilities and formation."

Two players, Ijon Neil and Andres Webb, who attend school on scholarship in the United States, have also returned to take part in the matches this weekend. Tickets are $8 at the gate children under 16 free.

Following the qualifiers Cayman Islands High School old boys and Strikers FC will play a match to honour the memory of the late Ed Wilson, former National coach and teacher at John Gray High (then Cayman Islands High School) who died Tuesday September 30 th in Scotland. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 p.m. at the Truman Bodden Sport Complex.
