Cayman’s U19 Women Gear Up for the 2004 CONCACAF
Women’s Under 19 World Championships
Cayman’s Under 19 Women’s Football Team
is bracing for their first ever clash up with Jamaica’s
U19 Women on valentines weekend.
In preparation for FIFA’s Under 19 World Championships,
23 National Associations including CIFA have confirmed
their participation in the CONCACAF U19 Qualifying rounds.
Cayman who was drawn against Jamaica is scheduled to
meet their opponents on February 13th and 15th right
here in Cayman.
With the home field advantage the team is by no means
intimidated and feels confident that the winds will
blow in their favour this time around.
The team consists of players from DHL National League
Champions Scholars International, Future FC, George
Town Sports Club and Western Union FC. Players invited
to train include:
Priscilla Connor, Chenara Ebanks, Kesherra Spence,
Rebecca Bush, Yorkidia Gordon, Kimberly Pitta, Reneika
Rankin, Janycee Parchment, Shakina Bush, Sasha Barnes,
Janique Samson, Justina Hurlston, Katrina Thompson,
Antea Thompson, Rachel Miller, Erica Webster, Sade Woods,
Ariela Smith, Meisha Garden, Vanessa Bailey and Patricia
Plummer.
Confirmed participants include:
Anguilla, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman
Islands, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El
Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico,
Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Vincent
and The Grenadines, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago, USA
and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
CONCACAF’s final round is scheduled for May 28th
– June 6th, in Canada. FIFA’s Under 19 Women’s
Championships will take place in Thailand November 10th
– 27th, 2004.
